Schools of Hope tutoring program is a program of Beyond The March Corp we will provide volunteer tutors to provide academic support for students in schools, churches, and community centers in Marion County. Our goal is to provide on-on-one or small group literacy and mathematic tutoring, helping students improve their academic performance.

 How it works?

  • Provides one-on-one tutoring in a group setting. Tutoring focuses on homework completion and attaining grade level skills utilizing toolkit activities that contain grade-aligned activities for all ages.
  • Intervenes with push-in and pull-out support during the school day
  • Offers STAR at select school sites. STAR (Striving Toward Academic Readiness), developed for early elementary students, focuses on core skills such as literacy, print and number concepts, fine motor skills, and social and emotional development.
  • Develops individualized learning plans focused on each student’s unique needs
  • Facilitates teacher meetings to learn how to best support each student
  • Coordinates home visits to families
  • Beyond The March will recruit, train, complete national background checks in addition to background checks required by the school corporation.

When and where is it?

Tutoring sessions will be held one day a week, and are 1 hour long sessions. At a time based on the schedule at each school or facility. Sessions can be during the school day or after school.
